Physical Education
At Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School, we aim to provide a high-quality curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physical activities. We want to provide opportunities for our pupils to become physically literate and confident in a way which supports their health and fitness as they move towards making their own choices as young adults. In addition we aim to provide opportunities for children to compete in sport and other activities in order to build character and help to embed values such as team work, fairness and respect.
All children have the opportunity to take part in a range of extra-curricular PE activities. There are weekly after school clubs as well as regular inter-house competitions that take place during lunch times. The children will also get opportunities to compete in several tournaments including Hockey, Netball, Football, Rounders, Tennis, Cricket and Athletics.
The document below outlines the PE that will be taught in each year group, each half term.
